I hate the way air feels when it blows across my veins.

Photo-etched aluminum, plastic tube, air pump, electroluminescent panels.

Dimensions variable.

This work, is created by a set of photo-etched aluminum miniature air conditioning ducts.

The geometric apparatus is mounted on the threshold of a door at approximately eye

height (56” high). One opening of the series blows a subtle wind across the threshold

onto the body of the viewer. Beyond its literal title-- that air blowing on a medical patient

is often painful and irritating-- the work suggests a larger metaphor.  Minuscule or slight

agents might affect our personal relationships, histories or bodies in trying ways. The

small-scale piece overwhelms the viewer with significant sadness as the experience of it

stirs reflection of the body’s disconnection from surrounding phenomena.
