4 part sound performance and installation: LEDs, Wireless communication,
Arduino board, transducers, subwoofer, electronics, wire.
[C#m] Before it [A] was. is a composed suite in four parts. The first thee parts were part of a
sound composition performed live in the museum’s Kanter Center. The fourth and final part was
a light sculpture that included a specially built LED light that received live wireless data from
the performance. The information fed to the light, then set off a sequence of resonation. Each
color of light resonated at a specific tone, i.e. [C#m] = green and [A] = orange. Over the course
of the exhibition, the sculpture portion or performance remnant oscillated until the green [C#m]
overrode the orange [A] leaving a small white dot where the two met in the center of the gallery.
